História do Cauim – A visita do Vigilante Rodoviário
O pessoal de idade um “pouquinho” mais avançada também curtia uma série de TV. Lá pelo ínicio dos anos 60 um dos seriados de grande sucesso da TV brasileira era “Carlos, o Vigilante Rodoviário”, que patrulhava a Via Dutra acompanhado de seu fiel escudeiro, o cão pastor Lobo. Sempre a bordo de um potente (para época) Simca Chambord ou em uma “classuda” Harley Davidson. De quebra, salvava mocinhas em perigo e espinafrava malfeitores pelo caminho. “O Vigilante Rodoviário” teve 38 episódios, de aproximadamente 20 minutos cada, exibidos originalmente pela extinta Rede Tupi de Televisão, reprisado nos anos 70 pela Globo e em 2009 pelo Canal Brasil.
O sucesso foi tão grande que o ator Carlos Miranda, que interpretava o personagem, tornou-se realmente um patrulheiro da Polícia Rodoviária do Estado de São Paulo e até hoje, já aposentado, representa a entidade em eventos pelo país afora.
O patrulheiro Carlos Miranda foi homenageado pelos companheiros de corporação em um evento realizado no Cauim, com a exibição de trechos do seriado no dia 26 de novembro de 2018. Trouxe junto uma viatura da época, este singelo e preservado Fusquinha.
