KL-Jay performs the Black Panther movie soundtrack live at Cauim.

Sesc Ribeirão presents a single screening of the film Black Panther at the Cineclube Cauim, featuring a live soundtrack performed by composer Guilherme Chiappetta and musician and DJ KL Jay.
Released in 2018 and directed by Ryan Coogler, Black Panther is a landmark in audiovisual narratives linked to superheroes. Featuring an Afrocentric story, the film introduces T'Challa, who returns to the kingdom of Wakanda after the death of his father, T'Chaka. It will be up to the young man to lead the kingdom to a better future for his people, even with the threats of Killmonger, a warrior who was part of Wakanda's history and has different ideas about how to lead its inhabitants.
Black Panther was important upon its release not only for its representation, but also for achieving some unique merits, such as being the first superhero film nominated for the Best Picture Oscar, and also competing for Best Original Score, Best Production Design, Best Original Song, Best Costume Design, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Sound Editing.
In addition to the film itself, the soundtrack also garnered significant public attention. Produced by Kendrick Lamar – one of the most influential rappers in the United States – the soundtrack blended hip hop, rap, R&B, and soul music into an album celebrating Black music.
Inspired by this album, producer Guilherme Chiappetta and KL Jay – a founding member of Racionais MCs – created a project where they combine their experiences as music creators and work on an exclusive soundtrack for the film.
Throughout the screening, Chiappetta and KL Jay together present beats that contribute to making the story shown on screen even more vibrant. Guilherme, with his background in soundtrack production, along with KL Jay's expertise in urban and pulsating sounds, broaden the experience with their live soundtrack.
The Black Panther + Live Soundtrack screening will take place on October 29th at 7:30 PM at Cineclube Cauim, located at R. Olavo Bilac, 153. Tickets can be purchased at the Sesc Ribeirão box office and also through the Credencial Sesc SP app, with prices of R$1$30 (Full Price); R$1$15.00 (Half Price) and R$1$10.00 (full membership).

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Guilherme Chiappetta is a bassist and music producer. Since 2001, he has composed and recorded music for films, plays, and dance performances. From 2012 onwards, he began producing soundtracks for silent films, jams, dance, and live paintings. With the Bijari collective, he created soundtracks for Sesc TV, 360-degree video art, and immersive projects for SP Arte 2018. In 2015, he composed the audio for the experimental film "A quarta e a última morada" by Mariana Shellard. He has been a musician with the Experimental Cinema Nucleus of the MIS (Museum of Image and Sound) since 2018.

KL Jay is a DJ, producer, and entrepreneur. He is one of the founders of Racionais MC's, along with Edi Rock, Mano Brown, and Ice Blue. With rapper Xis, he created the record label, event production company, and clothing company 4P, through which he released his solo album Na Batida Volume 3 – Equilíbrio, a Busca.
