The project CINEMA & LITERATURE é uma atividade, com sessões gratuitas de cinema, dirigida às associações de bairros de Ribeirão Preto, por meio da FABARP – Federação das Associações de Bairros de Ribeirão Preto (CNPJ 51.822.583/0001-777), alunos das redes pública e privada de ensino e público em geral. Serão exibidos filmes adaptados de obras literárias de gêneros diversos. O objetivo do projeto é aproximar a população ribeirão-pretana desta forma de cultura, do livro e dos universos que ela abre para a formação integral do ser humano.

Cinema has always looked to literature for themes and plots that have given rise to films of the most varied genres.
Muitos desses filmes alcançaram grande sucesso de público e/ou se tornaram verdadeiros clássicos. A palavra escrita, ferramenta fundamental da Literatura, exige talvez mais esforço do que a imagem, para ser entendida pelo receptor. Mas ambas, palavra escrita e imagem, necessitam da mente humana no processo de definição do discurso. E a própria palavra “"imagine"” This already allows us to understand that all human thought is structured as an image. In other words, the world can only be thought about through images.
Following this preamble, we want to say that the films shown in the sessions CINEMA & LITERATURE They seek, in various ways, to account for this relationship between the written word and the image, in a process that scholars would call transcoding.

Using text, narrative, and music by the poet, essayist, and translator Cláudio Willer (1940-2023), the film records impressions of Brazil in the first half of the 1980s, and can be defined as an intimate-patriotic drama.
The autonomous segments are glued together, always with some dissonance between sound and image.
Among the film's powerful dialogues, Aloysio Raulino says: “"Some dead people are too bothersome. Dead people that nobody wants to know about, nobody wants to see!"”

The film was made at a time when the memory of the writer, journalist and political activist Patrícia Galvão (1910-1962), known as Pagu, was being rediscovered; she had been, until then, in relative obscurity.
Hey Pagu, Hey! It follows Pagu's trajectory, offering a generous portrait of the author of Industrial park (Published in 1933, Pagu signed it with the pseudonym Mara Lobo), considered the first Brazilian proletarian novel.
