Brazilian documentary in Cauim

Recess Time (2025) is a Brazilian documentary that discusses Brazilian education from the students' own point of view. The feature film (the film is approximately eighty minutes long) is directed by Lucia Murat The film blends documentary and fictional dramatization to address themes parallel to basic education in Brazil, reflecting the reality of fourteen- to nineteen-year-old teenagers studying in four schools spread across different neighborhoods and communities in Rio de Janeiro. Based on research conducted with public school teachers, the film combines classroom discussions with students on topics such as school dropout, racism, drug trafficking, stray bullets, femicide, and teenage pregnancy.

The film participated in the following festivals: 75th Berlin International Film Festivall (Germany), It's All True – International Documentary Film Festivals (Brazil), Cine a la Vista! (Argentina) Biarritz Amérique Latine Festival (France), Job Film Days (Italy), 40th Osnabrück Film Festival (Germany), Nuremberg International Human Rights Film Festival (Germany). Won the prize.  Special Mention from the Youth Jury node Berlin Film Festival.

And starting next day March 19 (Thursdayand even March 25th (Wednesday), the Cauim Film Club, the real movie theater in Ribeirão Preto, will be showing Recess Time

There will be two daily sessions: one at 16 hours (four o'clock in the afternoon) and another to 7:30 PM (seven thirty at night).

There is a maintenance fee: R$ 20.00 for a full ticket, R$ 10.00 for a half ticket.

But there is also a promotion: on Thursday (March 19) and on Friday (March 20thEveryone pays only R$ 10.00. Teachers will pay only R$ 10.00 every day.

And the Cauim, the film club that promotes citizenship by showcasing Brazilian films.
