Saturday, On April 25th, at 7 PM, the Cauim Film Club will screen... The Wild Child (The Wild Child, 1970), a film directed by the French filmmaker François Truffaut (1932-1984, one of the creators of Nouvelle Vague, a movement that revolutionized cinema.
Based on a book written by the French physician and psychiatrist Jean Marc Gaspard Itard (1774-1838), The Wild Child It tells a true story: the story of a boy from the late 18th century who supposedly never had contact with society, does not walk upright, nor does he speak, read, or write. He is rescued at around twelve years old and becomes the subject of study for a professor eager to understand the human condition.
Of the genre Drama, The Wild Child It has an approximate running time of ninety minutes and features the following cast. Jean-Pierre Cargol, François Truffaut, Françoise Seigner, Jean Dasté, Annie Miller.
And that's exactly it. The Wild Child, a classic of French cinema, which Cauim (the film club that promotes culture and citizenship in Ribeirão Preto), in partnership with Alliance Française Ribeirão Preto and the LEPES – USP, will be shown next Saturday, April 25th, to the 7 PM.
After the film screening there will be a discussion with Professor Dr. and psychologist. Maria Clotilde Rossetti Ferreira.
Oh, and nobody will have to pay anything to watch the film and participate in the discussion. Admission is free.
