The Secret Agent it is a political thriller Brazilian film of 2025 directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho, which became a cultural landmark after winning the awards of Best Foreign Language Film e Best Actor in a Drama Film (Wagner Moura) no Golden Globe Awards 2026. The awards ceremony took place on January 11th in Los Angeles, California.

Set in 1977, during the military dictatorship in Brazil, the plot follows Marcelo (played by Wagner Moura), a professor and technology expert who flees São Paulo for his hometown, Recife. He seeks refuge from a violent and mysterious past, but soon discovers that the city is not the safe haven he imagined. Enveloped in a web of paranoia and surveillance by neighbors and the regime, Marcelo must use codenames and hiding places while trying to rescue his son and plan an escape from the country.

The Secret Agent It premieres on the Cineclube Cauim screen next Thursday, January 22nd. There will be two daily screenings: at 4 PM and at 7:30 PM.
