Cauim Shows the Film Marty Supreme

Marty Supreme, a 2025 American production, is a blend of biographical drama and dark comedy that delves into the chaotic world of 1950s table tennis.

The feature film (approximately two and a half hours long), whose action takes place in 1950s New York, follows the trajectory of Marty Mauser, The story follows an ambitious and determined young man who, after leaving his job as a shoe salesman, decides to turn table tennis (at the time, an underestimated sport) into his arena for glory. The plot is loosely based on the life of the real-life table tennis player Marty Reisman.

Nominations and Awards

The film emerged as one of the top contenders for the 2026 awards season, with Chalamet's performance being a highlight.

Golden Globe Awards: three nominations, with victory for Timothée Chalamet as Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical.

Critics' Choice Awards: He received eight nominations, also winning in the Best Actor category.

BAFTA: eleven nominations (including Best Picture and Best Actor).

Other accolades: Awarded by New York Film Critics' Circlee for Best Screenplay and for National Board of Review as one of the ten best films of the year.

He received nine nominations for Oscar of 2026. Among the categories, it is competing with the film The Secret Agent in Best Picture, Best Actor (Timothée Chalamet) versus Wagner Moura), and Best Casting Direction. The full list of nominations includes Best Director (Josh Safdie), Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Design Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, and Best Editing.

Rating: In Brazil, the work received the following classification: 16 years old, because it contains sexual content, nudity, and inappropriate language.

And there's good news for residents of Ribeirão Preto and the surrounding region: Cauim will be showing... Marty Supreme starting next Thursday, February 19th.

There will be two daily sessions: one at 16 hours (four o'clock in the afternoon) and another to 7:30 PM (seven thirty at nightThe ticket office will open one hour before each session.

The film will be shown on the Cauim screen until Wednesday Next, February 25th.

Ah! There's also a promotion: on Thursday (February 19th) and Friday (February 20th), the maintenance fee will be only R$ 10.00 for everyone. On other days, the maintenance fee will be R$ 20.00 (full price) and R$ 10.00 (half price).
