Launch of “Memories of Faith”, book and documentary, November 23rd, at the new Cauim headquarters.

From the pilgrimage of Our Lady of the Conception of Montesina, which takes place in September in Monte Alto, to the festival of Bom Jesus da Lapa, in August, in the municipality of Jardinópolis, with its mosque, center, terreiro (Afro-Brazilian religious site) and many temples, the Paulista Institute of Creative Cities and Cultural Identities (IPCCIC) spent a year recording religious celebrations and manifestations of religiosity in the cities that make up the Ribeirão Preto Metropolitan Region.
The definition of faith among those interviewed from all religious backgrounds is the focus of the work, which was also compiled into a book for a historical collection being produced by IPCCIC with support from Proac, the Government of the State of São Paulo, through the Secretariat of Culture.
The religious diversity of Brazil is part of the final document and reflects the statistics, highlighting those religions that concentrate the largest number of followers. To avoid losing this representativeness, it was necessary to understand the scope of the research, also going to Barretos, where it is possible to observe the work in the mosque that brings together Muslims; making reference to the Spiritism of Franca and the pilgrimage of Our Lady of Grace in São Joaquim da Barra.
The book "Memoirs of Faith," containing 180 pages, will be distributed free of charge.
