We often wonder where the taxes we pay go, whether it's an annual tax like Income Tax or another, like the state ICMS (a state sales tax), which we pay daily on all the products we buy. The answer is: both go directly to the Federal Government or, in the case of ICMS, to the state government. Generally speaking, everything collected first goes to pay the expenses of the Federal Government (Income Tax) or the state government (ICMS). What's left over, which isn't much, is divided among the municipalities, which then apply these resources to their city's expenses and investments. In short, almost nothing is left for the municipality to do the much that is needed to meet the needs of the population.<\/p>\n

But you can directly interfere with this unequal distribution of collected resources. One way is to do this is by donating a portion of your income tax to cultural and social organizations in your city through the CMDCA \u2013 Municipal Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents of Ribeir\u00e3o Preto.
